Waves and the Beach Presentation:Matted From a distance I spotted

From a distance I spotted a tree which looked interesting in its location and when I got there found the fresh snow surrounding the area which I photographed and created this image

Finding a nice angle I captured the peaks of the canopy as it rose into the threatening clouds of the day

Using a shallow depth of field I focused on the brick post and let the lines lead to the color in the background

As I passed by this building in Chicago it started to reflect in the next facade

Late in the month we did get some snow and I headed out to the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver to photograph

Waves and the Beach Presentation:Matted From a distance I spottedThe use of a dock helps provides different perspectives when photographing waves along the beach. When I was in a small village in the Faroe Islands I was able to take advantage of this dock or pier. Being elevated over the water let me photograph down, but also close to the water itself. The longer shutter speed caught some motion, but not too much so there are still the sharp edges of the water being seen in the image.
