A handmade Bronze Russian icon of St. Nicholas. 18th Century. Roman silver dinar pendants Naturalistically rendered and overlaid withA Russian icon of St. Nicholas, made out of bronze. (1730 1750) The icon is in excellent condition. Size: 10. 5x9. 5 cm. 4x3. 7 inch. This item comes with a certificate from the Israeli Antiquities Authority. Very little is known about the historical Saint Nicholas. The earliest accounts of his life were written centuries after his death and contain many legendary elaborations. He is said to have been born in the Greek seaport of Patara, Lycia in Asia
